Balamac cross country

On Tuesday 10th of March Bradford's year 5's and 6's went to the cross country at Balamacewen  Intermediate.

The year five girls ran first. It was a little bit drizzly but alright. Samara Mackie came eighth out of the year five girls and got a certificate. Jason-Mark and Aaron came round about in
the twentys of the year five boys.

The year six girls were running in a tiny bit of sunshine but when it got to the year six boys it was nothing but rain, rain and more rain.

When we finished the bus wasn't there because we finished a bit early.

When we got back to school we had a milo and finished watching Suzy's World for our inquiry about insects. Once we warmed up a bit we went back to class and finished our inquiry.

Then we went home.

Whew! That was a long way

On Friday 6th March, the whole school went on a bus to the top of Brockville where the Fraser's Gully track starts.  We all had to make sure we had good walking shoes, warm clothes and something to drink.

Mrs O'Donnell led the way.  It was fun walking through the bush.  We met some people who were walking their dogs.

It was downhill all the way so it didn't take us long to get to the bottom of the track.

Mr Graham and some parents had a BBQ on the soccer field and they cooked us sausages for lunch.

We got to play some games like, relays, sack races, frisbee throwing, tunnel ball and rob the nest.  It was fun.

Then we had to walk all the way back to school.  This time Miss Robertson and the senior class led the way.  Boy!  Were we tired when we got back, but we had a nice surprise - Mrs Tobin was giving out ice-blocks  and they were really yummy because it was sooooo hot.

It was fun.  I hope we do it again next year.

Walk 'n Wheel Week

This week is Walk 'n Wheel week and Bradford kids have been walking to school every day.  We got given a progress card that our parents had to sign to see if we walked or not.

Luckily the weather has improved and it is not rainy in the mornings, or not so many would be walking.  If we walk every day and get our card signed then we go in the draw for some prizes.  Some people walk from the bottom of Bradford Street and some walk from the round-about.

Mrs Tobin came down the street to take photos of the people who were walking and she said it was lovely to see so many families walking.

WOW means walk on Wednesday.  All the classes see if they have the most
walkers on Wednesday.  Room 3 is the toughest to beat, so come on Room 5, let's start walking!  The class who has the most walking to school gets a certificate at the end of the term.

Tomorrow we will be walking from the top of Brockville, down through Fraser's Gully and back to school.  We hope we have lots of parents walking with us.  It should be fun, but a long way too.  We are having a BBQ lunch at the bottom of the track.  We will have another Blog about that soon.
